Sam Adams from Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club has taken out the 2025 Burleigh Cup in convincing fashion, posting a 36-hole total of 130 that included a course record 10-under-par 61 in the second round. It was an incredible achievement that bettered the previous course record of 62, which had stood for 14 years, and also set a new all-time low in the 50-year history of the Burleigh Cup. Burleigh’s own Allan Weise claimed runner-up honours with a total of 140, while Ray Beaufils finished outright third on 142.
In the Burleigh Cup – Women’s, Alicia Ludi produced a composed performance to finish on 144 with rounds of 76 and 68. She secured victory by ten shots over Anna Chen, who closed with a total of 154.
Lourich Van Rensburg was the 36-hole Men’s Nett Winner with 142 total, and Bev Button won the Women’s Nett with 151.
The 50th edition of the Burleigh Cup marked another great chapter in the event’s proud tradition and served as a special milestone in Burleigh Golf Club’s 75-year history. Well done to all competitors who contributed to an outstanding tournament.
