Golf Australia CONNECT

As part of a national update to golf handicapping, Golf Australia is introducing a new system – Golf Australia CONNECT. All golf clubs in Australia are required to transition to this new platform.

This transition will update the method by which golfers access their handicap information. Golf Australia CONNECT introduces an efficient system for reviewing handicap history and managing golfing activities within Australia. The launch of an updated golf.com.au website will serve as a central resource for all golf-related matters. This platform will integrate services from both Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia, enabling users to:

  • Register for Golf Australia events
  • Register for MyGolf and Get into Golf programs
  • Stay informed on the latest PGA of Australia Tour results.

With the introduction of Golf Australia CONNECT, all golfers will be assigned a unique Golf ID. Existing club members’ GOLF Link numbers will become their Golf ID, which will remain unchanged regardless of club transfers. New club members will be allocated a Golf ID via the Golf Australia CONNECT platform.

The move from GOLF Link to Golf Australia CONNECT may result in minor adjustments to previous handicaps due to the retroactive application of competition PCC (Playing Course Conditions) dating back to 1 January 2023, aligning with the World Handicapping System. For most golfers, anticipated changes should not exceed 0.5 strokes in either direction.

Additional updates include the release of the new Golf Australia Official App and a revised Daily Handicap calculation method, now featuring a consistency factor. Handicap history will remain accessible through golf.com.au, and current GOLF Link account holders will need to verify their accounts with an email verification process.

Changes at Burleigh Golf Club

This significant system upgrade will temporarily disrupt standard golf operations:

  • Effective midnight, Sunday 28 September, the GOLF Link system will be decommissioned.
  • From Monday 29 September to Sunday 12 October, handicapping services will be unavailable. During this period, Burleigh Golf Club will continue running daily competitions, utilising handicaps as of the GOLF Link cut-off date (Sunday 28 September).
  • Competition scores recorded during the transition cannot be retrospectively handicapped after the club moves to Golf Australia CONNECT.
  • Handicapped competitions are scheduled to resume on Monday 13 October, or possibly sooner if system testing concludes ahead of schedule.

MiClub is collaborating closely with Golf Australia to facilitate a seamless system transition. Members will receive ongoing communications regarding the changeover through Burleigh Buzz and updates in the News section of the members’ website. Staff will be available to support members throughout this important transition.

Upon launch, Golf Australia will securely transfer membership data previously registered on the GOLF Link website to Golf Australia CONNECT. New members joining after the launch who opt in will have the following information shared:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Month and year of birth
  • Gender
  • Name of golf club
  • Postcode

Golf Australia stores all member data on servers located within Australia. This data will also be accessed by Dot Golf (Golf Connect) in New Zealand and the Philippines. In line with our privacy policy, we are committed to sharing only the minimum necessary information. If you do not wish your details to be released to Golf Australia via Golf Australia CONNECT, please notify the Club by emailing manager@burleighgolfclub.com.au

Please note, providing your information is required to maintain a handicap within the Golf Australia CONNECT system.

Should you require any assistance, do not hesitate to contact us, we are here to support you through this transition.
