Effective Wednesday 17 September,the area to the right of the 12th hole, including the 10th green, will be Out of Bounds (defined by white stakes with black tops) for all play during the 12th hole.
This change has been introduced for golfer safety on holes 10 and 11. Since Cyclone Alfred removed a large tree near the 11th green, some players have begun aiming directly toward holes 10 and 11 when going the 12th green off the tee. The hole was not designed for this line of play, and it presents unnecessary risk.
The Match Committee will monitor the impact of this internal Out of Bounds over the coming months before deciding whether to make it permanent.
A sign with a course diagram will be placed on the 12th tee to clearly show the Out of Bounds area.
